
Here is the leopard shot I promised you—photo by Kate. It was stalking alongside our SUV looking for dinner for a good ten or fifteen minutes, so we got to admire its easy graceful movements at surprisingly close range.

A family of banded mongooses (yes, mongooses), spotted at the hostel restaurant just after breakfast.

Crater Lake. There were flamingos down there, but even with binoculars they were tiny pale pink dots.

Hippo poop explosion at close range. The other one didn’t seem to mind that his face was in the way.
And I shall conclude this entry with the best booze ad I have ever seen:
What fabulous photos! That hippo poo explosion is ridiculous! 🙂 I would love to be able to visit Africa one day.
What a great national park! I have never seen so many amazing animals in the wild.
