Christmas surprises

P1110603

Delicious, delicious books.

P1110602

You may recall that I put this book on my wish list. I love it when my sister and/or Elliot give(s) me something I mentioned on the blog.

P1110598

Kate and Elliot brought this tasty relish back from their November trip to Poland.

I got Kate this magnet from a shop called Rhody Craft at the Providence farmers’ market. Hee!

P1110599

Mama Jill gave me homemade granola! (It didn’t last long.)

P1110604

What could this be? (NICE WRAP JOB KATE!)

IT’S A TENT!!!! OF MY VERY OWN!!!!!!!!

P1110616

One night I whipped up some hot cocoa using almond milk, carob powder, cane sugar, cinnamon, and a little bit of vanilla. The next day, and the day after:

“Are you making more cocoa?”

“Why, do you want more cocoa?”

“Do youuuuuuuu want more cocoa?”

“I guess I’m making more cocoa!”

And, lastly but certainly not leastly, a Christmas surprise that wasn’t under the tree: K. R. Paradis wrote a lovely piece of music inspired by the holiday “covention” chapter in Petty Magic! Honestly, it’s been a week since she posted it and I still can’t quite believe I have readers this awesome.

Have you tried the beet salad and horseradish yet? I’m so curious to know how it is!

Love the piece of music created from your book. It was fun to read the little excerpt while the music played, fitting the story so well. Enjoy the gifts!

Looks like you had a great Christmas!

So glad that you liked the music. I was nervous when I sent you the link!
I enjoyed trying to get the scene that I imagined from your words into a musical form.

I’m trying to build up a musical soundtrack portfolio and it was a great scene for me to start with. I had been saving it for the season.

Thanks for the comment Amiee. I was hoping for that reaction when composing the piece.

Hi! I'm Camille. I only write stories that could never ever happen in real life, though I do believe in real-life magic. If we were in the same room I'd fix you a cup of tea, but for now we'll have to settle for a virtual connection. I'm really glad you're here.
