Thanks so much for your interest in The Main Street Vegan Academy Cookbook! Here’s more information about co-authors Victoria Moran and JL Fields, as well as the organizers of this event. My name is Camille, and I’m a Providence-based novelist and 2013 graduate of Victoria’s Main Street Vegan Academy. (I have two recipes in this book!) Bristol Maryott, Jivamukti yoga teacher and owner of Jala Yoga + Art, is hosting this shindig for us.

About the book:

The tips and recipes in this book are totally accessible even if you don’t have much cooking experience—it’s actually a great place to start—and there are plenty of options for those with food sensitivities and allergies.

  • Debunking the myths of expensive, complicated, and weird
  • There are lots of ways to eat plants and respect animalsyour way is just right
  • There is life after bacon!

And delicious easy recipes include:

  • vegan versions of classic foods like pancakes, Spanish omelet, hollandaise sauce, cheesy broccoli soup, macaroni and cheese, lasagna, and “pigs in a blanket”
  • time-saving one-pot meals like 15-Minute Chili, Brooklyn Barley Stew, and Beefless Goulash
  • Yummy karma-free desserts like Mocha Peanut Butter Bars, Chocolate Stout Cake, Pistachio Rosewater Macaroons, and classic pumpkin pie with spiked whipped cream

About the authors:

Victoria Moran’s spiritual, “big-picture” approach to veganism inspires everyone she meets. She’s penned many excellent books, most recently The Good Karma Diet and Main Street Vegan, she’s a popular international speaker and the director of Main Street Vegan Academy, and every Wednesday afternoon she interviews authors, artists, athletes, physicians, and other interesting people working for a greener, more just and loving world. You can listen to Victoria’s Main Street Vegan radio show/podcast on Unity Online Radio.

JL Fields graduated from the very first session of Main Street Vegan Academy and—as an author, teacher, coach, consultant, chef, speaker, and broadcaster—is one of the program’s most prolific alumnae. She is the author of The Vegan Air Fryer and Vegan Pressure Cooking and co-author of Vegan For HerJL’s vegan philosophy is refreshingly frank and practical, and her radio show/podcast, Easy Vegan, is intellectually engaging and fun.

About the event:

Free and informal. Come and snack on hors d’oeuvres and desserts from the book before settling in for a fun and stimulating conversation with Victoria! Books will be available for purchase and signing afterward.

If you have any questions about our event at Jala Yoga + Art, please email Camille at cometpartyATgmailDOTcom. We look forward to seeing you there!

Hi! I'm Camille. I only write stories that could never ever happen in real life, though I do believe in real-life magic. If we were in the same room I'd fix you a cup of tea, but for now we'll have to settle for a virtual connection. I'm really glad you're here.
